When making beet juice, don't throw away the pulp. It is a great raw material to make your own beet extract.
Just pour the beet pulp into a glass container (I use my son's baby food jar). Then pour grain alcohol (e.g. vodka, gin, sake etc) just to cover it. If you are allergic to alcohol, you can use glycerin instead. Wait for 2 weeks, you get your own beet extract.
I like to use it as cheek & lip tin. Just dip the cotton swap into the extract and apply it to apple of cheek. Color develop eventually.
